Cristiano Ronaldo emerges victorious in his fierce battle against Juventus
Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr Saudi Club, has won his legal battle against his former club, Juventus, in Italy.
According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport," the Italian judiciary ruled that Juventus must pay €9.7 million, which is the amount that Ronaldo was supposed to receive net of taxes as overdue salaries.
Ronaldo had filed a lawsuit against Juventus, seeking a total of €19.5 million, plus interest.
This case stemmed from the "salary maneuvers" that Juventus initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic, asking players to forgo four months' salary with the agreement to recoup three months in the following seasons.
As per "Tuttosport," Cristiano never signed the document related to this agreement with Juventus, which investigators discovered during Prism’s investigation into alleged fictitious capital gains.
The report clarified that Ronaldo hired three lawyers—John Shahata, Emanuele Guastalla, and Fabio Iudica—who successfully represented him in the case, costing Juventus more money.
